APARLAİ:

Located on the Sıçak Peninsula, it is located at the Sıçak Pier. It can be easily reached by boat from Üçağız. By land, you can see and reach Apollonia in Kılıçlı. Coins recovered indicate that the Lycian city of Aperlai dates back to the 5th or 4th century BC.  Aperlai, a member of the Lycian League along with Isindi, Simena, and Apollonia, is also considered the leader of the league.

The rectangular and polygonal walls, which begin at the seashore, are reinforced with spaced towers. Enclosing a rectangular area dating back to the Roman period, the walls are impressive in places.

The other ruins outside the walls date from the Byzantine and later periods. The southern side of the walls is polygonal and in a very dilapidated state. There was also a main entrance gate flanked by towers. Apart from a church in the northwest corner and a chapel in the southeast corner, there is no other structure.

To the east of the walls are numerous sarcophagi, almost all with rounded, curved lids. Some of these lie between the early walls and the coast. This suggests that this area belonged to the city, which was later enclosed by walls. Aperlai's quay and its associated structures are now submerged, and underwater views can be seen in some places.
